Maison Missive — Film

A window in Paris, before the day asked anything

A two-minute film about the hour I keep for no one but the work.

May 11, 2026·2 min film

I shot this on a Tuesday, before anyone was awake. The light came in the way it always does in this apartment — slow, then everywhere at once. I wanted to keep it.

Watch

A window in Paris — short film, 02:14
The hour before the day asks anything of me is the only hour the work tells me the truth.

There is a frame in here, near the end, where the curtain almost stops moving. I held that one a beat longer than I should have. It felt like the room agreeing with me.

An empty atelier with morning light across a wooden floor
Atelier still — the room that lets me work

If you watch closely, nothing happens. If you watch closely, everything does.
